We often think of containers and containment in a concrete fashion without fully understanding what it really is, how it operates, and what happens when it fails. This course will explore these areas with the hope of providing some substance to the concept of containment. The instructor will provide clinical examples and those taking the course will also be asked to offer clinical examples.
- To demonstrate knowledge of the concept containment and be able to apply it clinically.
- To describe potential outcomes when containment is inadequate.
- To be able to explain the differences between “containment” and “holding.”
