LIBRARY SERVICES
An integral part of the Institute and its programs, the Betty Golde Smith Library provides a collaborative and welcoming space for Faculty, Candidates, students and interested members of the surrounding academic, professional and lay communities to conduct research and read for current awareness.
Donors of the Institute have access to additional services including borrowing privileges, reference assistance, notification of new journal articles, and inter-library loans.
When you visit the Betty Golde Smith Memorial Library, you may access the library’s current journals and other print materials. The Institute provides dedicated workstations to access to electronic resources, including the journals available at the links below.

Many of these titles are also available in print, along with other journals, including Journal of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, The Canadian Journal of Psychoanalysis and holdings of other significant journals such as the Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic.
While visiting the Library, users may access PEP Web. This database provides full-text access to the archives of all the journals listed above and dozens of others. For current issues of journals available via PEP Web (the most recent 3-5 years), visitors may consult our online subscriptions or print collection.
The Betty Golde Smith Library was established in 1957 and is one of the top psychoanalytic libraries in the country and is the only up-to-date resource for psychoanalytic materials in St. Louis.
The Betty Golde Smith Library is part of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) coordinated by the National Library of Medicine. It is one of the 400 member medical libraries of the MidContinental Region of the network that includes Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
The NN/LM is a network of health science libraries and information centers throughout the United States. The NN/LM provides health care professionals and the public equal access to health care information resources.
