A Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute Town Hall: “Transferring to Zoom”
Town Hall Moderator: Andrew Chirchirillo, Ph.D.
We are now in an unprecedented time in psychotherapy – the era of global pandemic. Having moved from in-person psychotherapy and analysis to Zoom treatments without much transition time we are all experiencing an upheaval in the psychotherapeutic frame. How can we help our patients when we are all going through the same traumatic anxieties?
At the same time, the horrors of racial injustice and systemic racism are being explicitly brought to our attention in shockingly explicit smart phone videography. As psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic psychotherapists we stand against systemic racism and must address the epidemic of racial prejudice.
The St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute will begin hosting 1 hour Zoom Town Hall meetings in order to provide a space for the psychoanalytic community to share experiences and reflections on any aspects of the twin epidemics in America today – The Coronavirus and Systemic Racism. All psychoanalytically oriented therapists, students, candidates, and psychoanalysts are invited, regardless of institutional affiliation.
The Town Hall Zoom Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7:15 PM.
Time: 7:15 p.m.
Fee: FREE
Location: Virtually via Zoom
