Our Approach to Therapy

We offer affordable, in-depth psychodynamic psychotherapy provided by advanced clinical trainees under the close supervision of experienced psychoanalysts and psychotherapists.

Our approach helps uncover unconscious patterns that shape thoughts, feelings, and relationships—supporting insight, resilience, and lasting emotional growth.

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on:

  • Increasing self-understanding and deepening insight into emotional issues
  • Understanding behaviors as symptoms of underlying concerns
  • Exploring how early relationships influence current patterns
  • Building capacity for more fulfilling relationships and life experiences

What to Expect

  1. Initial Contact: Call us or complete our online interest form
  2. Brief Screening: A short phone conversation to understand your needs
  3. Therapist Match: We’ll match you with a therapist within 1-2 weeks
  4. Begin Therapy: Start weekly sessions at a fee based on your income

The Schiele Clinic Referral Network

The Clinic has a network of over 75 therapists offering treatment throughout the region. Network therapists are Institute Faculty, Analytic Training Program Candidates or graduates of the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program currently in private practice. If you need a therapist who accepts insurance, we can provide referrals to our network providers.

Taking the Next Step

Beginning therapy starts with curiosity—and just searching is a meaningful first step. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. Therapy is a space to explore, reflect, and grow.

Whether you’re overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply curious, we’re here to meet you with care and compassion.
