Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute Presents
The Final Session
A Murder Mystery Gala
Date: Thursday, April 30, 2026
Time: 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Venue: Boundary at the Cheshire
When a distinguished analyst is found dead, suspicion falls on everyone in his intimate circle — each harboring their own motive tied to his mysterious nickname for his trainee: “Brown Penny.”
Drawing from William Butler Yeats’s poem of the same name, the mystery explores how the analyst’s repressed desire for his student becomes a web of professional jealousy, marital betrayal, and dangerous obsession. As guests piece together clues about countertransference, symbolic poetry, and the victim’s blind spots about his own unconscious, they must determine not only who acted on their murderous impulses, but how the deed was done.
In the world of psychoanalysis, every object carries symbolic weight — and one of them became the murder weapon.
